ARGUMENTS INSIDE THE FOREST
Chopping and boiling bubbles can be heard inside the kitchen of the old mansion, added a small humming song also can be heard coming from a certain ember-brown haired girl and yes, her name is Hikaru Kazena; alias name till she figures her real name. Though last night Kazena had an interesting event in her life of having a new friend, she still able to wake up early to help the mansion’s maid or her new friend named Kinomoto Tsubasa to prepare breakfast together.
Unlike before, Tsubasa has finally accepted Kazena which made she greeted Kazena and welcoming her into the maid’s kitchen. Its amazing that the way they talked to each other is like they already become close friends for years. They talked about countless things and keep on continuing.
“Tsubasa-San… May I ask a question to you?” She asked while looking the sausages that Tsubasa is frying.
The maid tasted the mushroom soup she made before answered, “Yes, what is it?”
Managing her apron, Kazena titled her head aside as she looks at the light-brown maid, “You have mentioned Irino belong to other world, right? Are you belonged to the same world as him?”
“No.” she answered shortly. “And I don’t think I belong to the world where I was raised…” she continued as she closed the fire because the cooking for breakfast has finished. Then, she stared through the window where the sky is slowly filled with dark clouds, realizing it’s going to rain soon. “But there’s a world I want to go. I may figure where I truly belong if I go there…”
Kazena prepared the plates on the table before stopped walking and have her full attentions on the maid. “Where do you want to go?” she asked and didn’t make a single sound so that she can listen carefully to what Tsubasa is going to say.
A smile appeared at Tsubasa’s lips as she turned around to the ember-brown, looking at her sky-blue eyes with her ember eyes. “The place I want to go is… Ar Dream Ciel.” She smiled. “It’s a place where dreams come true and a paradise where there’s no such thing as sadness. Only happiness.”
“That place is only a legend.” Irino suddenly appear in front of them, interrupting the conversation. “They said you can only go there when you are dead and some are saying when you lost consciousness, sleeping or in a coma.” He explained. “But I also heard if you want to go there, you need to meet with a person who will lead to the Ar Dream Ciel. I also heard about two keys to go there.” The blond continued to speak up before coming into a conclusion, “Because of those countless rumours I heard when I was traveling, I don’t think Ar Dream Ciel exists but if does… I would like to go there as well.” He stated his opinions.
“Agreed.” Tsubasa said as she smiled calmly as if she believes that someday, she definitely going there someday.
After hearing the conversation about Ar Dream Ciel, Kazena titled her head aside before realizing that she also has heard about Ar Dream Ciel but doesn’t know when it was. So, she simply ignored her thought and wished if the place does exist, she also wanted to go there… with Irino and Tsubasa, of course. While thinking, Kazena took out a carton of milk from a nearby refrigerator and grabbed a glass to fill it with the milk. The milk is poured until the last drop of the pure white liquid drops. “The milk is finished…” she announced.
Hearing what Kazena just said successfully made Tsubasa began to open the drawers and the cabinets to analyses the amount of the foods and ingredients left in the kitchen for the mansion members. When she come up to a conclusion, she stopped walking around and began to announced, “The food supplies are… getting low. I think we need to go to the town to refill the supplies.”
“YAY~” yelled the mansion master when he found out they are going out from the forest to go shopping.
“We can go now…” Tsubasa continued which made the blond become happier until… “…If it’s not raining.” Tsubasa uttered as a sudden lightning strike and the rain began to pour in fast motions to the land.
“Oh, why? WHY?! Why have you betrayed me, oh dear rain~” Irino whined childishly.
Kazena only could smile and giggled lightly after seeing the childish side of Irino again but in the same time, she wondered the ways to go to the town when they are living inside a deep forest like this. Perhaps, there’s a way and she will soon figure it out when they are going there. So, there’s nothing to worry about. “Oh, it’s the end of autumn, right? Despite of my amnesia, I heard that if the more rain comes, later there will be snow coming from the sky.” She cheered Irino up and lifted her glass of milk to drink it. However, before she could do so, Irino snatched the glass away and drink them all till the last drop of the white liquid. ‘Did he do that because he wanted to be tall?’ Kazena thought.
“Hurm, hurm~ Am I getting taller now?” Irino said proudly as he pushes the empty glass in to Kazena. Before Kazena could reply anything, he suddenly ran outside the kitchen and toward the living room. Then, he stopped in front of a huge window and sat down, staring at the rain droplets outside the mansion.
Seeing Irino’s weird action, made her curiosity sparks as she followed to where Irino is and leaves Tsubasa alone inside the kitchen. When she saw Irino is sitting near the window, Kazena slowly approached him but finishes her steps next to a couch. Then, the ember-brown hair sat on the couch and began to observing the blond by laying her head against the soft pillow.
Giggling like a girl, the blond continued to stares at the rain with his sparkling emerald orbs. “Ame wa, itsuka yamu no deshouka~ Zuibun nagai aida tsumetaii~(Will the rain ever stop, I wonder? For a pretty long time now its been cold.)” he sang softly.
His voice isn’t the best or perhaps the worst Kazena ever heard because it almost sounds like a frog begging to rain but the song is like a spell, casting her to fall asleep on the couch. Slowly, Kazena’s eyes began to close but her ears still listen to the song Irino sang.
“Ame wa doshite boku wo erebu no…(Why does the rain choose me?)” he continued to sing and successfully made Kaze fall asleep after she heard the last sentences of the song translated into the language she understands.
“…nigeba no nai boku o erabu no.(Why does it choose me who has nowhere to escape to?)”
As the last sentence is singed by Irino, there is a young boy running in lightning speed inside the forest, not far away from the mansion. He, who has wet onyx hair thanks to the rain, turns around and dodges a sword’s slash from behind. The slash has successfully leave a small cut at the onyx hair’s left leg, making him unable to moves freely as his wills but it still didn’t stop the boy from standing on his feet. Thanks to his determined will, he doesn’t want to give up just because of his small injuries.
‘How… how am I going to brake myself free from them?’ he asked himself as out of number foes stood to block his freedom in his golden orbs.

The onyx hair boy just stands silently on the wet grass without any movement so that he can concentrate on watching the swordsman’s movement carefully with his golden eyes. Although he has an injured leg, that doesn’t meant he can give up his desires and when a drop of rain almost reached his hair, he began to dash forward. The swordsman also imitates the smaller boy’s movement by dashing forward, drawing out his sword and began to attack him.
In the same time, an arrow is aimed straight to the onyx hair, however the target easily break the attack by grabbing the arrow with his left hand and slide aside of the swordsman, making him suddenly appeared from behind him. Then, he stabbed the arrow deeply through the swordsman’s trouser and deep into the ground before dodging a sword’s slash from reaching his body. Without noticing, there is another person at the onyx’s back. The person slashed his with a sharp claws weapon, leaving great injuries at the onyx’s back.
“Hehe~ Kou, you can never escape from us. There are only two options for you… Return or Die.”
The onyx hair called Kou only hisses in pain as he is trying his best to endure the pains at his leg and his back. When he noticed the claw user somewhat letting his guard down because of his injuries, he quickly taking the advantages by making a back-flash-kick toward the claw user. The user quickly reflected by defending the surprise attack by protecting his body with his claw but the kick is too powerful that made his flew backwards and the claw has broken into pieces.
Kou’s actions have successfully made the three foes thinks twice about the boy and never underestimate him although they outnumbered him. He isn’t called the Third for nothing. The swordsman who already breaks free from the arrow quickly repeated his previous tactic by dashing forward and thrust the sword forward and straight to Kou.
Swiftly, Kou moves aside to let the sword passes but the pain at his back and his leg have made him stunned for a while but before he could ignore the pains once again, a young lady who was in charge of the arrows already behind him with another arrow aiming straight at his head. “Why desire betraying so much, Kou-kun?”
Silently, Kou just withstand the wounds while his golden eyes stared at the archer, swordsman and the claw user before chuckling, “Sorry, but do I have any reason on why should I tell you guys?” he sneered with a smile on his lips. Without warning, something pulled the archer’s leg, making she lost her balance and accidently released the arrow toward the sky. In reflects of the situation, the swordsman swings his sword to slash the onyx hair once again but it turns out to another fail attempts. The onyx hair lowered his body down and gathers all his strength into a powerful uppercut, making the swordsman fainted right away with just one hit.
Kou wanted to finish of the other two foes but the wound at his back finally become a critical one. His body become stunned as he falls down on his knee, trying to stay conscious and back on his feet but his strength is fading away because he lost too many blood thanks to the rain which continues to fall onto them. Then, he noticed the archer and the claw user already surrounded him. Although the archer’s finger has a small cut but she still manages to pull another arrow and promising, it’s not going to miss this time. It’s ashamed that she forgot about the Kou’s tail but there’s nothing he can do and nothing can help him now.
“Kou… if you still desire to be free… I will KILL you here and NOW!” she yelled and ready to releases her arrow directly at his head.
Out of nowhere, a sudden lightning strike a nearby huge tree, making burnt into crisps and some of them fall onto the ground. Not only that, there’s a dark hole appeared too and a shadow jumped out from the darkness, landing no far away from the onyx and his foes. A bloody orb can be seen at the shadow’s left eyes and a smirk appeared when he saw the peoples who just fought with each other. The shadow summoned a black scythe and suddenly released a huge black wave by swinging his weapon toward the onyx hair and his foes.
When the impact is gone, there’s nothing left on the ground as if there’s nothing there to begin with. Then, the shadow groaned and when another lightning strikes, it reveals the shadow’s true form. It’s actually a person one year older than the onyx hair, wearing torn, dirty and bloody clothes. He has a black hair and only his left crimson eyes could be been while his right eyes have blood flows from it. The black hair exanimated his surrounding before chuckled, “Finally, escaped from the abyss…”
Then, he turns back to the dark hole to close it with his black scythe. After that, he began to walk away on the place they called in between light and darkness. However, he stopped walking and stared at the dark sky, feeling the rain pours onto him. A mysterious smile appeared before he murmured along with another loud lightning, “I’m… coming from the abyss to get you… You will never escape from my sight ever again.”

“AH!” shocked Kazena as she suddenly revealed her sky-blue eyes with sweats rolled at her face. She wiped away all the salty liquid from her face before calming her breath because of a weird dream she had. She doesn’t know the reason but she felt that something is searching for her and there is something she should be looking for but when she referred from her blurred memories, nothing is there. What is this… weird feeling? I don’t… understand… What is it trying to tell me? …I need help.
With that, she snapped out from her thought and began to roll her eyes in search of Irino who isn’t where he supposed to be before she slept. “Irino-Kun?” she called his name but received no answer. Kazena jumped away from the couch and began to search for a figure once again. Slowly, she walks into the kitchen to meet up with Tsubasa but she is also nowhere in her sight. When Kazena turns her eyes away from the kitchen, she heard the kitchen’s back door is opened and closed. “Tsubasa-San?” she called the maid as she turns around to see the person who just used the door.
“Yes, what is it Kazena?” Tsubasa replied.
Smiles from Kazena slowly disappeared when noticed Tsubasa’s hand is oozed with blood and her cheeks also have a few scratches. Plus, she also noticed that Tsubasa’s light-brown hair it wet… because of the rain perhaps? “Tsubasa-San! What’s wrong with your hand?!” worried Kazena as she ran toward the maid right away.
Tsubasa blinked and looked at her hand before answering, “I fell down when I was checking the flowers garden behind the mansion. It was raining heavily so I thought the garden was damaged. The ground was slippery and that’s the reason for me to fall on the ground. Also, I think my hand has a cut because of something shard at the garden. So, there’s nothing to worry about, nee?” Tsubasa tried to cheer Kazena up.
“Wa-wait there! I’ll go find some bandages!” panicked Kazena after hearing and saw the small cut at the maid’s hand. She quickly rushed from the kitchen to find an emergency kit but she couldn’t find it. “E-eh? Where is the emergency kit?” she wondered. There should be one on top of the cabinet but it’s gone. Then, Kazena and Tsubasa noticed a figure walking around the next room of the kitchen and it turns out to be the mansion’s master sitting on the floor, doing something. “I-Irino-Kun?” Kazena called as she walks toward the blond to find out what is he doing.
The blond didn’t give any respond and just concentrate on what he is doing until Kazena already walks closer to him and by that time, he already finished his works. “Oh, Kaze-Chan~ looky here.” Irino said as he showed a small black cat with bandaged left leg and body. “It’s a neko, I saw him outside just now. It looked wounded, so I treat it right away with some small, simple healing magic and medicine.”
While hearing Irino’s explanation, Tsubsa blinked and just stared at the black cat, thinking about something. Kazena snapped her from her stupor after spotted some unused bandages to cover Tsubasa’s injured fingers.
“Hmm? Injured again, Tsubasa-neeChan? You should be extra careful when going to the mansion’s garden again…” Irino uttered as he laid the black cat into a basket from his lap. “Looks like we have to postpone the shopping… can’t just leave an injured person and neko behind. Plus, the weather…” He speaks up as he looked at the sky through the window, noticing it’s still filled with darkness and thunder clouds. Looks like the rain will last longer than they thought. They just hoped with the food from the kitchen and the garden in enough for them to survive another couple of days.

Author's Note// The song Irino sing is Rain by SID from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. At that time, the anime is still ongoing and I like singing that song when its raining. :DD Anyway, I hoped all of you like this new chapter ;D
